WESTON, Mo. – The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) invites landowners and land managers to its free Healthy Woods Landowner Workshop to learn about creating healthy woods by removing invasive plants. The program will be on Saturday, April 25, from 9-11:30 a.m. at Bless Park off highway JJ in Weston.

Managing woods and forests can improve wildlife habitat, increase property values, grow healthier trees, and create a forest for the future.

Program participants will be shown how to identify common invasive plants in Missouri, simple treatment methods, ways to improve the health and value of their woods and forests, and resources available to assist with forest management.

The program will begin at Bless Park with demonstrations and continue on a nearby private forested property where participants will hear from a neighbor about their experiences using cost-share programs to manage their land.

Space is limited and registration is required for this free program at mdc-event-web.s3licensing.com/Event/EventDetails/216740.

MDC is committed to accessibility at all its nature centers, regional facilities, and conservation areas. To request an ADA accommodation for participation in MDC programs, visit mdc.mo.gov/accessibility
